Dr. VRK Womens Medical College, Aziznagar

Dr. VRK Women's Medical College was established during the academic year 2010–2011 with the exclusive aim of offering quality medical education to women. The college began with an approved annual intake of 100 female students for the MBBS program.

The institution was set up by Dr. V R K Educational Society, which obtained the Essentiality Certificate from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Consent of Affiliation from Dr. N.T.R University of Health Sciences to initiate the medical college.

Following these approvals, the Society submitted a detailed Project Report to the Board of Governors in supersession of the Medical Council of India (MCI). Upon conducting thorough inspections and verifying the adequacy of faculty, equipment, and infrastructure, the MCI recommended the establishment of the college to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. As a result, the Ministry granted the Letter of Permission (LOP) on May 23, 2012 (Ref. No. MCI-34(41)/2012-MED/113540), officially allowing the college to admit 100 female students annually into the MBBS course.

Recognizing the institution’s community-driven mission, the Society also applied for and obtained Minority Status from the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI), Government of India. This status was granted on October 5, 2010 (Ref. No. 1238/2010), officially declaring the college a Minority Institution from its inception.

While the college is exclusively for women students, the faculty and patient population include both men and women. As a minority institution, it operates in accordance with the admission policies and regulations laid down by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, which may be updated periodically.
