Student Visa & Residence Permit Process for Georgia

International students, including those from India, must complete a two-stage immigration process to study at European University in Georgia: securing a D3 student visa before departure and obtaining a Temporary Residence Card (TRC) upon arrival.

 

 Stage 1: Applying for the D3 Student Visa (INDIA)

The D3 visa is a long-term visa issued to students pursuing higher education in Georgia. Applications are typically submitted through the Georgian Embassy or a designated visa application center such as VFS Global.

 Steps to Follow:

  • Receive Your Invitation Letter: After confirming your admission and paying the tuition fees, European University will issue a notarized Invitation Letter a key document required for your visa application.

  • Prepare the Required Documents: You’ll need to compile the following:

    • A valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)

    • Official Invitation Letter from European University

    • Proof of financial means (e.g., recent bank statements)

    • Completed visa application form

    • Passport-sized photographs

    • Proof of accommodation in Georgia (e.g., hostel confirmation or notarized letter)

    • Valid medical and travel insurance policy

  • Submit Your Application: Submit your documents either online or in person at the Georgian embassy or consulate.

  • Visa Processing Time:The D3 visa is typically processed within 30 calendar days.

 

 Stage 2: Obtaining a Temporary Residence Card (TRC) in Georgia

Once you arrive in Georgia with your D3 visa, you must apply for a Temporary Residence Card to legally reside and study throughout the academic year.

 Steps to Follow:

  • Visit the Public Service Hall: Within 45 days of arrival, visit a Public Service Hall in Tbilisi to initiate your TRC application. You’ll be required to submit documents and biometric data.

  • Submit the Required Documents: Required documents include:

    • Passport with D3 visa stamp

    • Confirmation of student status from European University

    • Proof of accommodation

    • Bank statement showing financial sufficiency

  • Processing & Collection: TRC processing may take up to 30 days. Once approved, you’ll be notified to collect your card. The TRC is typically valid for one year and must be renewed annually at the Public Service Hall
