Government Law College, Hassan

Government Law College, Hassan, established in 2007, is a government-run law institution affiliated with Karnataka State Law University, Hubli, and fully approved by the Bar Council of India . Situated on MG Road within the governor-backed Government Colleges' campus, the college spans approximately 2.5–3 acres, supporting around 245 students and a faculty of about 10–12 members .

The institution offers a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. program with admissions based on merit in previous qualifying examinations (10+2, minimum 45% for general category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC) . It does not offer the three-year LLB program, focusing entirely on the integrated course .

Infrastructure and campus life are well-rounded, with facilities including a boys’ and girls’ hostel (via government-run hostels), a library with textbooks, reference materials, case law, journals and magazines, ICT-enabled classrooms, a moot court hall, an auditorium, sports grounds, computer labs, Wi‑Fi campus, cafeteria, transport, and a health center with first aid .
