Government Medical College, Srinagar

Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, established in 1959, is the oldest medical institution in the Kashmir region. It is affiliated with the University of Kashmir and recognized by the National Medical Commission. Located in the Karan Nagar area of Srinagar, the campus spans approximately 100 acres, providing a conducive environment for medical education and patient care.

Academic Programs:

• • Undergraduate: GMC Srinagar offers a 5.5-year MBBS program with an annual intake of 180 students. Admissions are based on merit through the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET).

  •  Postgraduate: The college provides postgraduate courses (MD/MS) in various medical disciplines, with a total of 570 seats.
