IIFT Delhi Admission Process 2025
The admission process at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi is primarily entrance exam-based, except for certificate programmes. Candidates who meet the required cutoffs in the entrance exam are further assessed through additional selection stages. The admission procedure varies depending on the course selected. Detailed steps are provided below:
Step 1: Filling Out the Application Form
Applicants must register for their desired programme via the official IIFT website (iift.ac.in). Prior to submission, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility conditions specified for their chosen course. To begin the process, visit the new admissions page and click on the “Apply Online” button.
Step 2: Initial Shortlisting
For admission to the MBA (IB and BA) programmes, candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT scores. Previously, admissions were done via the IIFT entrance test. For courses like MA and PhD, IIFT continues to conduct its own entrance examination. Only those meeting the exam cutoffs are considered for the next stage of evaluation.
Step 3: Selection Procedures
MBA applicants who are shortlisted must appear for the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. For all other programmes (except MA), candidates undergo personal interviews as part of the evaluation process.
Step 4: Announcement of Final List/Cutoffs
Following all the evaluation rounds, IIFT publishes a final merit list or cutoff list, which includes the names of applicants selected for admission.
Step 5: Confirming Admission
Candidates included in the final merit list are offered admission. They must pay the admission fee and complete the required formalities. The institute may also conduct document verification before assigning seats.
