Admission to IIM Ranchi’s two-year postgraduate programs—MBA, MBA-HR, and MBA-BA—for the 2025–27 batch will be based on candidates’ performance in CAT 2025, Personal Interview (PI), and their overall profile. The PI process will be conducted jointly with other IIMs under the Common Admission Process (CAP), coordinated by IIM Bodh Gaya.
Candidates will be initially shortlisted for PI based on CAT percentile cut-offs, which vary by category (e.g., General: 95 overall percentile, SC: 66, ST/DAP: 42). Meeting the cut-off does not guarantee shortlisting, as further ranking within categories is applied.
Final selection will be based on a Consolidated Merit List (CML) with the following weightage:
-
CAT Score: 65%
-
Profile Score: 20%
-
PI & Written Ability Test (WAT): 15% (PI: 12.5%, WAT: 2.5%)
Bonus marks are awarded for:
-
Gender diversity: 5 marks for female and transgender candidates
-
MBA-HR applicants with 2–3 years of full-time work experience: 5 marks
Eligibility for the MBA-BA program requires a full-time UG or PG degree in engineering, technology, science, architecture, or computer applications with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
The profile score includes:
-
Academics (10%): Based on SSC, HSC, and graduation marks
-
Work Experience (10%): Highest score (10 marks) for 24–36 months of experience
