The Institute of Legal Studies (ILS) at Ranchi University, established in 2018, is a public law institution located in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Operating under the administrative control of Ranchi University, ILS is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and aims to promote legal research, education, and training among the youth of the tribal-dominated state of Jharkhand. ILS offers a range of programs, including a five-year integrated BBA LL.B. (Hons.) course and a two-year LL.M. program. The BBA LL.B. (Hons.) program admits 60 candidates each year, focusing on integrating legal studies with business administration. The LL.M. program offers specializations in areas such as Constitutional Law, Contract and Insurance, Environmental Law, Criminal Law, Business Organization, and Human Rights.
