R. L. Law College, Davangere

R.L. Law College (officially Rajanahalli Laxmana Shetty Law College), located in Davangere, Karnataka, was founded in 1968 by the Bapuji Educational Association. Affiliated with Karnataka State Law University (formerly Kuvempu University) and recognized by the Bar Council of India, it holds a NAAC B+ accreditation (CGPA 2.65) 

The college offers two full-time programs: a three-year LL.B. with 120 seats and a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. with 60 seats. Admissions are merit-based, requiring 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks in qualifying exams, evaluated through Karnataka PGCET, CLAT, or 12th-grade scores depending on the course .

R.L. Law College is set on an urban campus in P.J. Extension featuring a dedicated multi-storey building with strong academic infrastructure. It boasts a central, well-stocked library containing over 2,500 back volumes and multiple Indian journals, complete with LAN-connected computers and Wi-Fi for research support .

Practical training is a core focus, with regular moot court exercises, court and chamber visits, legal aid programs, internships, and seminars. These hands-on experiences complement traditional lectures, group discussions, and case-study methods to enrich students’ skill sets .

The college supports student life with a broad range of facilities, including an auditorium, sports ground, indoor/outdoor games, separate boys’ and girls’ hostels, guest rooms, a cafeteria, medical center, and a strong alumni association .
