Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech

To be eligible for admission into the first year of the B.Tech (or B.E.) program, a candidate must typically meet the following requirements:

  • Qualifying Examination: Passed the 10 2 (PUC/HSC) or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

  • Optional Subjects: Must have studied at least one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, or Electronics.

  • Minimum Marks: * General Category: Minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the optional subjects.

    • Reserved Category (SC/ST/OBC): Minimum aggregate of 40% marks in the optional subjects (applicable for Karnataka domicile candidates).

  • Entrance Exam: Applicants must have a valid score in national or state-level entrance exams such as KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) or COMEDK UGET.

Admission Process

The admission process is generally divided into three main channels:

  1. Government Quota (via KCET): * Students must appear for the KCET exam conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

    • Admission is based on the rank secured in the CET during the centralized online counseling process.

  2. Entrance-Based Quota (via COMEDK):

    • Students with a valid COMEDK UGET rank can apply for seats allocated to this quota through the COMEDK centralized counseling portal.

  3. Management/Direct Quota:

    • A portion of seats is reserved for direct admission by the college management. Candidates interested in this route should contact the college administration directly.

    • Note: Even for management quota seats, candidates must generally meet the minimum academic eligibility criteria set by the university.

General Application Steps

  • Inquiry: Reach out to the specific campus admissions office to confirm the availability of seats for the current academic session.

  • Application: Fill out the college-specific application form (available on their website or campus).

  • Counseling/Selection: Participate in the respective state/national counseling rounds if seeking a government-aided seat.

  • Documentation: Once a seat is offered, you will be required to submit:

    • 10th and 12th/PUC mark sheets.

    • Entrance exam scorecards (KCET/COMEDK/JEE Main).

    • Transfer/Migration Certificate.

    • Caste and Income certificate (if applicable).

    • Passport-size photographs.
