Thangal Kunju Musaliar (TKM) College of Engineering, located in the "cashew hub" of Kollam, Kerala, holds the distinction of being the first government-aided engineering college in the state. Established in 1958 by the visionary industrialist and philanthropist Janab Thangal Kunju Musaliar, the institution was founded to provide high-quality technical education to all sections of society. Its foundation stone was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of Independent India, and it was formally inaugurated by Prof. Humayun Kabir, the then Union Minister for Scientific and Cultural Affairs.
