Tripura Medical College and Dr. B R A M Teaching Hospital, Agartala

​Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, established in 2006, is located in Hapania, approximately 7 kilometers from Agartala, Tripura. Initially founded through a public-private partnership, the institution is now managed by the Society for Tripura Medical College, under the Tripura government. Affiliated with Tripura University and recognized by the National Medical Commission, the college offers an MBBS program with an annual intake of 100 students, along with postgraduate courses in select specialties. ​

The campus spans about 31 acres and houses a 600-bed hospital equipped with facilities such as NICU, PICU, ICU, ICCU, and a burn unit. The academic infrastructure includes well-equipped laboratories, departmental museums, a central library, and ongoing developments like a modern outpatient department block and an auditorium. ​

The college comprises departments across various medical disciplines, including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology, Radiodiagnosis, Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases, Dentistry, Dermatology, and Orthopaedics. Additionally, it offers super specialty departments like Endocrinology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, and Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery. ​

Beyond academics, the college fosters a vibrant student life with events such as the annual fest "Neuron," blood donation drives, and health awareness camps, contributing to both student development and community engagement. ​
