The Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS), established in 2023 in Lucknow, is a pioneering institution dedicated to integrating forensic science with legal studies. Affiliated with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), UPSIFS offers a multidisciplinary approach to education, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

UPSIFS provides a range of integrated and postgraduate programs designed to equip students with expertise in forensic science, cyber security, and law. These include five-year integrated courses like B.Sc.-M.Sc. in Forensic Science, B.Tech.-M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), and B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.), as well as postgraduate programs such as M.Sc. in Forensic Science, M.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences (with a specialization in Cyber Security), and LL.M. degrees focusing on Criminal Law and Cyber Law. A distinctive feature of UPSIFS is its "Law with Labs" initiative, which integrates practical laboratory experiences into legal education. This approach allows law students to engage directly with forensic techniques such as DNA fingerprinting, cyber forensics, and forensic ballistics, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between law and science.
