Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the B.Tech/B.E. program at AITM, candidates must meet the following academic requirements:

  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed the 12th  (PUC/HSC) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

  • Mandatory Subjects: Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects, along with one of the following as an optional subject: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Electronics, or Computer Science.

  • Minimum Marks: A minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the optional subjects (Physics, Mathematics, and the chosen optional subject). For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories (of Karnataka state), the minimum aggregate requirement is 40%.

  • English: Candidates must have studied English as one of the languages in their qualifying examination.

Admission Process

Admissions are conducted through three primary channels:

  1. Government Quota (via KCET):  Candidates must appear for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET).

    • Admissions are based on the merit list and rank secured in KCET, followed by the centralized counseling process conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

  2. Entrance-based Quota (via COMEDK): * Candidates can also apply through the COMEDK UGET (Undergraduate Entrance Test).

    • Seats are allotted based on the COMEDK rank and subsequent counseling.

  3. Management Quota:

    • A certain percentage of seats are available under the management quota. Candidates can apply directly to the college for these seats, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria set by the institute and VTU norms.

Steps to Apply

  • Application: Candidates can apply online through the official AITM website or visit the campus admission office in person to collect the application form and prospectus.

  • Counseling: For government and COMEDK quota seats, you must participate in the respective centralized counseling rounds, select AITM, and lock your preferences.

  • Document Verification: Once a seat is allotted, students must report to the institute to verify their original documents and complete the fee payment to confirm their admission.

Required Documents

At the time of admission, you will typically need to provide the following:

  • 10th and 12th standard (PUC) marks cards.

  • KCET or COMEDK Rank Card (if applicable).

  • Transfer Certificate (TC).

  • Migration Certificate (if applicable).

  • Caste and Income Certificate (for reservation/scholarship purposes).

  • Passport-size photographs and valid photo identity proof (e.g., Aadhar card).
