Introduction Established in 1984, Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), located in Tiruchirappalli, is an ISO 21001:2018 certified institution and an autonomous School of Excellence under Bharathidasan University. Governed by an independent society, BIM has a unique industry-academic linkage, originally conceptualized in collaboration with BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited), offering a real-world learning experience akin to a medical college attached to a hospital. This innovative approach was inspired by the visionary leadership of Late Shri C. Subramaniam, a former Union Minister and Bharat Ratna, who spearheaded the establishment of BIM.

BIM is recognized for its high academic standards and for offering quality management education. The institution is ranked among the top 100 business schools in India, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

Academic Programs BIM offers a two-year, AICTE-approved residential MBA program with various specializations, including Marketing Management, Finance and Economics, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Digital Business, and Analytics. Additionally, BIM offers various Executive and Faculty Development Programs such as PG Certification in ERP (SAP), PG Certification in Public Policy & Management, and PG Certification in Digital HR & Analytics.

BIM has also established several Centers of Excellence to advance contemporary management practices, including:
