Gaya College of Engineering (GCE)

Gaya College of Engineering (GCE) is a government engineering institute located in Srikrishna Nagar, via Buniyadganj, Gaya, Bihar, India. It was officially re-established and inaugurated in 2008 by the Government of Bihar after earlier operations under different names, and functions under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar with a mandate to deliver quality technical education in the region. GCE is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna — the statutory technical university for engineering education in Bihar. The institute offers undergraduate B.Tech programs in core branches such as Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Civil Engineering (CE). Admissions to these programs are primarily through JEE Main followed by UGEAC (Under Graduate Engineering Admission Counselling) conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB). In terms of rankings and reputation, GCE Gaya is recognized as one of the notable government engineering colleges in Bihar. According to independent engineering college rankings, GCE is placed around #390 out of 500 engineering colleges in India (2025) with #8 in Bihar state for B.Tech programs.
