Government Sivagangai Medical College, Sivaganga

​Government Sivagangai Medical College and Hospital, established in 2012, is a government-run medical institution located in Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu. Affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the college offers an undergraduate medical program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The MBBS course spans 4.5 years, followed by a one-year compulsory rotating medical internship, totaling 5.5 years of study. Admissions are based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scores. The college has an annual intake of 100 MBBS students. ​

The college is situated on a 30-acre campus in Vaniyangudi village, approximately 4 km from Sivaganga town, providing a serene environment conducive to learning. The campus is equipped with essential facilities, including a teaching hospital that provides medical services to the people of Sivaganga and surrounding areas. The hospital has various departments, specialties, and modern diagnostic and treatment facilities. The hospital houses a 500-bed ward to treat in-patients and includes specialized units such as NICU, PICU, and trauma care.

The college offers postgraduate courses in various specialties, including MD General Medicine, MD Pediatrics, MD Anesthesia, MD Emergency Medicine, MS General Surgery, and MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Additionally, paramedical courses such as Diploma in Medical Lab Technology, Operation Theatre Technician, and Anesthesia Technician are available. ​
