Overview
Established in 1970, the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) was founded as a not-for-profit society with a mission to deliver research-driven insights to industry and government in the fields of finance and economics. The sponsoring body, IFMR Society, was supported by prominent institutions including the former ICICI Ltd, the House of Kotharis, and other leading industrial groups. As the first initiative of its kind in Asia, IFMR Society focused on advancing education, training, and research in macroeconomics, microeconomics, finance, and management—eventually evolving into a full-fledged business school and laying the foundation for what is now Krea University.
