Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi

​Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College (MLBMC) in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, is a government-run institution established in 1968 to provide medical education and healthcare services to the Bundelkhand region. Named after the iconic freedom fighter Rani Laxmi Bai, the college is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University and recognized by the National Medical Commission. ​

The college offers undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) programs across various specialties. Admissions are based on performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for both UG and PG courses. The campus spans over 380 acres, making it one of the largest medical college campuses in India. It includes modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a comprehensive library, and separate hostels for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The associated hospital has a bed strength of approximately 700 and provides extensive clinical exposure to students while serving the healthcare needs of the surrounding communities. ​MLBMC has been selected for upgradation under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), aiming to enhance its infrastructure and facilities to the standards of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
