Overview
Established in 1989 to serve the Vidarbha region, SVNGMC was the result of efforts by the late Shri Sudhakarraoji Naik, then Chief Minister, and Health Minister Shri Jawaharlalji Darda. The college was named after Shri Vasantraoji Naik, the region’s first Chief Minister and the “Father of the Green Revolution.”
Over the years, dedicated Deans have played a key role in the college's growth. Since 2017, Dr. Manish Baburao Shrigiriwar has led the institution, focusing on enhancing medical education and patient care with a student- and environment-friendly approach.
SVNGMC currently offers 150 MBBS seats and postgraduate programs in various specialties. Affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, the college has a well-developed campus with modern facilities including lecture halls, hostels, a library, auditorium, gym, and staff residences.
The hospital serves around 1300 patients daily, with advanced facilities like a 765-bed inpatient unit, operation theatres, specialty clinics, intensive care units, and a Central Sterilization Unit.
With over three decades of service, SVNGMC remains committed to quality healthcare and medical education for the region.
