Visa Registration
Visa Registration & Extension Process at VSMU
Upon arrival in Russia, international students enrolled at Voronezh State Medical University are required to complete a mandatory visa registration to maintain legal residency. The university’s International Students Office plays a key role in guiding students through this process.
Initial Arrival & Registration
-
Migration Card Issuance: At the point of entry, typically a Russian airport, students will receive a migration card from border control. This document must be carefully preserved, as it is essential for visa registration and future renewals.
-
University Reporting Requirement: Students must report to the International Students Office at VSMU within three working days of arrival. This is a legal obligation under Russian immigration law.
-
Document Submission: Students must present their original passport and completed migration card to university staff. Based on the student’s accommodation details, the university will register their arrival with the local migration authorities.
Visa Extension Procedure
-
Initial Visa Validity: The first student visa issued is typically a single-entry visa valid for 90 days.
-
Extension Timeline: To extend the visa, students must submit the necessary documents to the International Students Office 30–40 days before the visa’s expiration.
