Eligibility Criteria for BDS Admission

To apply for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed 10 2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects.

  • Minimum Marks:

    • General Category: Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB.

    • Reserved Categories: Relaxation in marks as per DCI and KEA norms.

  • Entrance Exam: Must qualify the NEET-UG exam for the current academic year.

  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year.

 

Admission Process

Admission is conducted through centralized counseling:

  • Step 1: Appear for NEET-UG.

  • Step 2: Download NEET scorecard and result.

  • Step 3: Register for counseling:

    • All India Quota (AIQ): Through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

    • State Quota (Karnataka): Through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

  • Step 4: Fill and lock choices, including S. B. Patil Institute.

  • Step 5: Seat allotment based on NEET rank, preferences, and seat availability.

  • Step 6: Report to the college for document verification and fee payment.
