After completing your MBBS from Tver State Medical University, you can practice medicine in India or abroad, provided you meet the specific licensing and registration requirements of the country where you wish to work.

To Practice in India

To practice medicine in India, you must adhere to the regulations set by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Here’s a breakdown of the requirements:

  • NMC Recognition: Tver State Medical University is recognized by the NMC, which is a crucial first step for any foreign medical graduate.

  • NEET-UG Qualification: You must have qualified for the NEET-UG exam before enrolling in your MBBS program at the university. This is mandatory for all Indian students who wish to practice in India later.

  • National Exit Test (NExT): Upon returning to India, you must pass the National Exit Test (NExT). This exam has replaced the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) and is essential for obtaining your medical license.

  • Compulsory Internship: You must complete a one-year supervised internship in an NMC-approved hospital in India. This is required even if you completed an internship as part of your degree in Russia.

  • Eligibility to Practice in Russia: You should also be eligible to register and practice medicine in Russia, as per NMC guidelines.

To Practice Outside India

Tver State Medical University is recognized by several key international medical bodies, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). This global recognition makes its graduates eligible to apply for licensing exams in many other countries.

Here are the requirements for some major destinations:

  • USA: To practice in the United States, you must pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and secure a residency position. The university's ECFMG recognition makes you eligible for this exam.

  • UK: For the United Kingdom, you must pass the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) exam, which is a two-part test required by the General Medical Council (GMC). You'll also need to meet their English language proficiency requirements.

  • Canada: You'll need to pass the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) to get a license to practice. You may also need to complete additional residency training in Canada.
