The Madhya Pradesh High Court has postponed the hearing concerning the NEET UG 2025 results to May 29, 2025. The petition, filed on behalf of students affected by power outages at 11 exam centres in Madhya Pradesh, seeks a re-examination or other suitable relief.
These students claim they were unable to complete the exam held on May 4, 2025, due to prolonged power failures that left them in the dark during the test. The petition specifically highlights issues faced at centres in Indore and Ujjain.
During the previous hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appeared via video conference from Delhi. He informed the court that a special committee would be formed to examine complaints from 24 centres in Indore. He also argued that, according to statistical data, most students attempted all questions and that no exam material was compromised.
However, Advocate Mridul Bhatnagar, representing the affected students, challenged the report, stating that over 60 petitions had been filed from the affected regions. He pointed out that Indore experienced nearly two hours of power loss, while Ujjain had outages lasting 40 to 45 minutes, seriously disrupting exam conditions.
Mr. Bhatnagar also questioned the accuracy and clarity of the official report, calling it "confusing" and stated that further details would be presented when the hearing resumes on Thursday, May 29.
