NEET UG 2025 Result: Category-Wise Qualifying Cut-off Marks Released

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG 2025 results, enabling students to begin the admission process for undergraduate medical and dental programs across India. This year, 22.09 lakh students appeared for the exam, with 12.36 lakh qualifying. In comparison, 13.15 lakh students had qualified last year.

A total of 22.6 lakh candidates registered for NEET UG 2025, slightly fewer than the 24.06 lakh registrations in 2024. The number of students who skipped the exam also declined—from over 72,000 last year to approximately 66,700 this year.

Candidates from the General and EWS categories must score at or above the 50th percentile, which corresponds to a score range of 686 to 144. Meanwhile, candidates from the OBC, SC, and ST categories need to meet the 40th percentile, with scores ranging between 143 and 113.

Number of Qualified Candidates by Category

In terms of category-wise performance, OBC candidates led with 5.64 lakh qualifiers, followed by 3.38 lakh from the General category. Additionally, 1.68 lakh SC candidates qualified, along with 97,085 from the EWS category and 67,234 from the ST category.

Next Steps After Qualifying NEET UG 2025

Students who meet the qualifying cut-off are now eligible to participate in the All India Quota (AIQ) counseling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), as well as in state-level counseling organized by respective state authorities.

NEET UG 2025 scores will be used for admission to various programs, including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BSMS, and BVSc & AH. Additionally, candidates applying for the Military Nursing Service (MNS) through the BSc Nursing program at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals must also qualify NEET UG 2025 to be considered for shortlisting.
