New MCC Counselling Dates for BDS Announced – Don’t Miss Out!
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a new schedule for Round 2 of BDS counselling for the 2025 academic year. This change comes as part of efforts to make the counselling process smoother and more convenient for students. Due to some administrative adjustments and technical reasons, MCC had decided to extend the deadlines for registration, choice filling, and seat allotment.
This revised schedule gives candidates more time to complete important steps like registering for counselling, selecting their preferred colleges, and confirming their choices. It will also help students who may have missed deadlines or faced issues during the earlier rounds.
The updated schedule applies to seats under both the All India Quota (AIQ) and Deemed Universities. Students are advised to carefully check the new dates and complete all steps within the given time to avoid missing out on their chance to get admission into BDS programs.

WHO CONDUCTS NEET COUNSELLING:
NEET counselling is carried out at two levels - national and state. At the national level, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is responsible for managing 15% of the All India Quota (AIQ) seats. These include seats in government medical and dental colleges across India, as well as in central universities, deemed universities, and special institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER. This process allows students to apply for seats anywhere in the country, regardless of their home state. On the other hand, the State Counselling Authorities manage the remaining 85% of seats, called the State Quota, in medical and dental colleges within their own states. This ensures that local students get a fair share of opportunities in their respective states.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN MCC COUNSELLING:
Anyone who has qualified the NEET-UG exam and meets the eligibility rules, can take part in MCC counselling. To be eligible, candidates must have passed their 10 2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as main subjects and secured the required marks according to their category. They should also be at least 17 years old at the time of admission. Both Indian citizens and OCI/Foreign Nationals are allowed to register for counselling. Candidates must also have obtained a valid rank in the NEET merit list to apply. Importantly, students from all states, including the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, are eligible to participate in MCC counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) and deemed university seats, once they complete the registration process on the official MCC website.
