Overview: Aliah University, established in 2008, is an autonomous minority institution under the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education, Government of West Bengal. It was upgraded from the over 243-year-old Aliah Madrasah (established in 1780) to a modern state university. The university operates three distinct campuses in Kolkata: the Heritage Campus (Taltala), the Park Circus Campus, and the flagship New Town Campus. The New Town campus features sprawling modern infrastructure including digital libraries, advanced research labs, high-tech engineering workshops, smart classrooms, and on-campus separate hostels for boys and girls. The fees are highly subsidized by the State Government, making it one of the most affordable engineering universities in the region with total B.Tech tuition of just ₹60,000 for 4 years
