Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech

To be eligible for admission for the academic session, candidates must meet the following university and state norms:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th (Higher Secondary) or equivalent examination from a recognized board (PSEB, CBSE, ICSE, etc.).

• Core Subjects: Must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or Biology.

• Minimum Marks:

  • General Category: Minimum 45% marks in the aggregate of the subjects mentioned above.

  • SC/ST/OBC Category: Minimum 40% marks in the aggregate of the subjects mentioned above.

• Entrance Exam: Admissions are primarily based on the JEE Main rank. However, the college also conducts its own entrance exam, the AGC NEST (National Entrance Scholarship Test), which can be used for both admission and scholarship eligibility.

Admission Process

The admission process is designed to be streamlined, offering both online and offline routes:

1. Registration for AGC NEST: Candidates are encouraged to register for the AGC NEST on the official Amritsar Group of Colleges website. Performance in this test can lead to significant tuition fee scholarships.

2. Counseling (PTU): For seats allocated via the state quota, candidates must participate in the IKGPTU Centralized Online Counseling based on their JEE Main scores.

3. Application Submission: Fill out the college application form either online or by visiting the campus in Amritsar.

4. Merit List & Seat Allotment: Based on JEE Main scores or AGC NEST performance, a merit list is prepared, and seats are allotted to successful candidates.

5. Document Verification: Candidates must submit original documents for verification to confirm their eligibility.

6. Fee Payment: The final step is the payment of the admission and first-semester fees to secure the seat.

Required Documents

• Class 10th and 12th Mark sheets and Passing Certificates.

• JEE Main Scorecard or AGC NEST Result.

• Transfer Certificate (TC) and Migration Certificate.

• Character Certificate.

• Punjab Domicile Certificate (if applying under the 85% state quota).

• Caste Certificate (if applicable).

• Passport-size photographs and Aadhar card.
