The university is accredited with the highest 'A ' Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), reflecting its superior academic standards. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by statutory bodies like AICTE, NCTE, and the Bar Council of India. The engineering arm of the university, University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), holds a legendary status in the history of technical education in India. Established in 1917 by the Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, it is the fifth engineering college to be set up in the country. Situated at K.R. Circle near the Central College campus, UVCE is modeled after the IITs and is renowned for offering high-quality technical education at a nominal cost. The college boasts a rich legacy, having produced countless technocrats, including state chief ministers and industry captains. Its infrastructure, though historic, includes specialized amenities like the Structural Engineering Lab, High Voltage Lab, and the Internet of Things (IoT) Lab. Bangalore University is unique in its scale and reach, being one of the largest universities in Asia with hundreds of affiliated colleges. It offers a truly multidisciplinary environment, covering Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, and Engineering.
