BIKANER TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

Bikaner Technical University (BTU) was established in 2017 by the Bikaner Technical University Act, 2017 to strengthen technical education in Rajasthan’s northern and western regions. The university is located in the RIICO Karni Industrial Area, Pugal Road, Bikaner, Rajasthan – 334004, India. BTU functions as a public/state technical university and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and offers programs approved under the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) framework. The exact campus area in acres isn’t clearly published on the official site, but external education profiles mention a campus footprint around 43 acres in Bikaner for BTU’s main facilities. BTU serves as the affiliating university for around 40 colleges in Rajasthan, covering engineering, management, architecture, computer applications, and other technical and professional programs. In terms of rankings and accreditations, BTU has been accredited with an “A” grade by NAAC, and past reports indicate ranking within NIRF frameworks for technical education institutions under its umbrella. Individual constituent and affiliated colleges (like Government Engineering College Bikaner) may also have their own ranking/status details. BTU’s academic structure includes laboratories and practical facilities that support undergraduate and postgraduate engineering, design, and science programs through its University College of Engineering & Technology and affiliated departments. These labs feature standard equipment for engineering disciplines (e.g., computer labs, electronics and communications labs, mechanical and civil engineering labs) to support hands-on learning and research, although detailed equipment lists are generally published at the college/department level through individual colleges rather than centrally on the BTU site.
