Birbhum Institute of Engineering & Technology (BIET)

Overview: Birbhum Institute of Engineering & Technology (BIET) was established in 1999 by the ICARE society under the presidency of Late Shri Somnath Chatterjee. Located in the historic Tilpara Barrage region of Suri, Birbhum, the institute spreads across a 30-acre campus. It is a government-aided private institution affiliated with MAKAUT and approved by AICTE. The college is NBA accredited for specific branches (like Mechanical Engineering) and is recognized as the first private engineering college in the Birbhum district, aiming to provide affordable technical education with a non-profit objective. It is a TEQIP-II funded institution.
