The Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra offers a comprehensive range of management programs through its Department of Management.

MBA Courses and Structure

BIT Mesra primarily offers a 2-Year, Full-Time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. It is structured into four semesters, with the first two focusing on core management fundamentals and the latter two on specialization.

1. Dual Functional Specialization

A key feature of the BIT Mesra MBA is the provision for Dual Functional Specialization. Students are required to choose two specializations from the following broad functional areas:

• Finance

• Human Resources (HR)

• Marketing

• Information Technology (IT)

• Operations

• Business Analytics

2. Sectoral Specializations

In addition to the two Functional Specializations, students also have options to pursue a Sectoral Specialization in areas such as:

• Healthcare Management

• Operations & Manufacturing Management

• Insurance and Bank Management

• Hospitality Management

• Agro-Business Management

• Safety Management

3. Other Management Programs

The Department of Management also offers other programs, including:

• MBA (Online): A 2-Year program delivered through the online mode, primarily designed for working professionals, offering the same dual specialization options.

• Integrated MBA (IMBA): A 5-Year integrated program (after 10 2) with provision for optional exit with a BBA degree after 3 years.

• Ph.D. in Management: Doctoral program for research in various management disciplines.

Postgraduate Programs

BIT GP Birla Scholarship Schemes

• BIT GP Birla Scholarship (Based on Merit)

  • Applicable to undergraduate students of 4/5-year programs admitted through JEE (Main) or equivalent entrance examinations.

  • For the 1st semester, the scholarship is awarded based on CRL (JEE Main) or equivalent entrance exam rank.

  • From the 2nd semester onwards, continuation is based on the GPA of the preceding semester.

  • The scholarship is not applicable to students registered in their final (graduating) semester.

• BIT GP Birla Scholarship (Merit-cum-Means) for Economically Weaker Section (EWS)

  • Applicable to undergraduate students of 4/5-year programs admitted through JEE (Main) or equivalent entrance examinations.

  • Students must belong to the EWS category with parents’ annual income not exceeding ₹8.00 lakhs.

  • Scholarship is awarded from the 2nd semester onwards, based on the GPA of the preceding semester.

  • The scholarship is not applicable to students in their final semester.

• BIT GP Birla Scholarship for Economically and Socially Challenged Students (ESCS)

  • Applicable to undergraduate students of 4/5-year programs admitted through JEE (Main) or equivalent entrance examinations.

  • Eligible categories include SC / ST / OBC / EBC / NCL with parents’ annual income up to ₹8.00 lakhs.

  • Scholarship is awarded based on the prescribed merit and eligibility conditions.

• BIT GP Birla Scholarship (Prize) to the Program Topper

  • Awarded to undergraduate students of 4/5-year programs admitted through JEE (Main) or equivalent entrance examinations.

  • Given to the top-performing student of the respective program.
