Overview
CIPET : Institute of Petrochemicals Technology (IPT), Jaipur is a Government of India institute functioning under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology) is a national-level autonomous body established to cater to the human-resource needs of the petrochemicals, plastics, polymers, and allied manufacturing industries.
The Jaipur campus (IPT Jaipur) was established in 2020 as an advanced academic institute to deliver undergraduate engineering education with a strong focus on industry-oriented learning, practical exposure, and applied research. CIPET Jaipur is strategically located in the Sitapura Industrial Area, one of Rajasthan’s major industrial hubs, enabling close interaction with manufacturing units, MSMEs, and large industrial houses.
The institute is AICTE-approved and its B.Tech programs are affiliated with Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota. CIPET Jaipur is distinct from conventional engineering colleges because it combines academics, training, testing, consultancy, and skill development under one ecosystem. Students gain hands-on exposure through tool rooms, polymer processing labs, testing facilities, CAD/CAM/CAE labs, and industrial projects.
CIPET Jaipur emphasizes skill-based education, preparing graduates for direct absorption into industries related to plastics processing, petrochemicals, automotive components, packaging, polymers, and manufacturing technology. Being a central government institute, CIPET maintains uniform academic standards across India, and its curriculum is regularly updated in line with industry requirements.
