BDS Admission Process – Chettinad Dental College

Admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program at Chettinad Dental College and Research Institute is based on the candidate’s performance in the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Entrance Requirement

  • Candidates must qualify NEET-UG with the minimum percentile prescribed for their category.

Counselling Authority

  • The admission process is managed by the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chennai, under the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Application and Quota Categories

  • Candidates must apply separately for counselling under the following quotas:

    • Government Quota

    • Self-Financing Quota

    • Management/NRI Quota

  • Seat allocation is determined by:

    • NEET-UG score

    • Seat availability

    • Reservation norms

    • State-specific eligibility criteria

 

Eligibility Criteria

Criteria Requirement
Age Must be 17 years or older as of December 31 of the admission year
Educational Must have passed H.S.C. / ( 2) or equivalent with:
  - English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology/Botany & Zoology
  - Minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCB subjects (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD)
 
 

Reporting and Admission Confirmation

  • After receiving the allotment order from the Selection Committee, candidates must:

    • Report to the college within the stipulated time

    • Present all original documents

    • Pay the prescribed fees to confirm admission
