Admission
BDS Admission Process
Admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program is based entirely on performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). The process is conducted through a centralized system managed by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) and involves the following steps:
1. NEET-UG Qualification: Candidates must appear for and qualify in NEET-UG. A valid NEET-UG score is a mandatory requirement for admission to the BDS program.
2. State-Level Counseling: Following the release of NEET-UG results, candidates must register for the KEA counseling process. Participation in this centralized counseling is essential to be considered for seat allocation.
3. Seat Allocation: KEA assigns seats based on NEET-UG rank, reservation category, and the candidate’s preferences for colleges. Seats are distributed under various quotas, including Government, Private/Management, and NRI.
4. Document Verification and Admission Formalities: Once a seat is allotted, candidates must report to the respective college with all original documents for verification. Admission is finalized upon successful document verification and payment of the prescribed fees.
NEET BDS Cut-Offs
The NEET cut-off refers to the minimum score or rank required for admission to a specific college and varies annually. These cut-offs are influenced by factors such as the number of applicants, exam difficulty, and seat availability.
