DR BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY'S INSTITUTE OF PETROCHEMICAL ENGINEERING

The Institute of Petrochemical Engineering (IoPE), located in Lonere, Raigad, is a specialized constituent unit of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU). Established in 1982, it predates the formation of the university itself and serves as a foundational pillar for technical education in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. Spread across a sprawling 468-acre campus, the institute was originally founded to provide specialized human resources for the burgeoning petrochemical and chemical industrial belts of Thane, Belapur, Patalganga, and Nagothane. Infrastructure and Research Facilities The IoPE campus is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure tailored for engineering students. It features well-furnished laboratories for every department, providing hands-on experience with industrial-grade equipment. The central library acts as a knowledge repository with a vast collection of technical books, journals, and digital resources.
