Government Dental College and Hospital (GDC&H), Vijayawada is a premier government dental institution in Andhra Pradesh, established in 1992–93 to provide affordable and quality dental education. Affiliated with Dr. Y.S.R. University of Health Sciences and recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI), it is the only government dental college in coastal Andhra Pradesh and was declared a Centre of Excellence in Oral Health and Oral Cancer Care by the state government in 2023. The college offers BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) with an annual intake of 40 students and MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) across eight specialties including Oral Medicine, Conservative Dentistry, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontology, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, and Public Health Dentistry.

The institution emphasizes clinical exposure and community outreach, with advanced facilities for oral screening, diagnosis, and treatment, including cancer detection using VELscope autofluorescence technology. It maintains strong academic collaboration with Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, ensuring integrated medical training.
