Government Dental College Thrissur

Government Dental College, Thrissur, established in 2015, is one of Kerala’s premier institutions dedicated to dental education and oral healthcare. Located within the Medical College Campus in Thrissur, the college is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences and recognized by the Dental Council of India. It was founded with the mission to provide high-quality dental education and to serve the oral health needs of the surrounding communities, especially those from Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts. The college spans over five acres and boasts a state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes modern laboratories, well-equipped clinics, and advanced dental chairs ,currently numbering 104 to facilitate hands-on training and patient care. 

The institution offers a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program with an annual intake of 50 students, selected through a centralized admission process based on NEET scores. With a student-teacher ratio of 3:1, the college ensures personalized attention and mentorship, supported by a dedicated faculty of 91 members. The academic environment is enriched by technology-driven lecture halls, multimedia-enabled classrooms, and a comprehensive library that houses a vast collection of national and international journals, along with an e-library facility. The college also features a Dental Education Museum and preclinical labs equipped with patient simulators to enhance experiential learning. Hostel facilities are available for both male and female students, with separate accommodations and staff quarters, ensuring a comfortable residential experience. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and includes amenities such as a health and first aid center, sports grounds for basketball, football, cricket, and volleyball, and seminar halls for academic and extracurricular activities. The institution emphasizes community outreach through its Mobile Dental Clinic, which extends services to underserved populations, reflecting its commitment to public health.
