Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya

Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGU), located in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, is one of the premier and largest central universities in Central India. Established originally as a state university by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly in June 1983, it was elevated to the status of a Central University on January 15, 2009, under the Central Universities Act. The university is named in honor of the great Satnami saint, Guru Ghasidas, who preached the messages of truth, non-violence, and social equality. The Institute of Technology (IT-GGU) is one of its most prominent wings, offering B.Tech and M.Tech programs in various specialized branches. Furthermore, GGU is known for its research-oriented approach, providing Ph.D. programs across nearly all its 32 departments. The university is accredited by NAAC with a ‘B ’ grade and has consistently improved its standings in the NIRF rankings, particularly in the Pharmacy and Engineering categories.
