Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to the first year of B.Tech at GJUST, you must meet the following requirements:

Academic Qualification: Must have passed 12th or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.

Mandatory Subjects: You must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Computer Science.

Minimum Marks: * General Category: At least 45% marks in the aggregate of the above subjects.

SC/ST/Reserved Categories (Haryana): At least 40% to 42.75% marks (depending on specific state relaxations).

Entrance Exam: A valid JEE Main 2026 score and All India Rank (AIR) is mandatory.
Admission Process
The admission cycle for 2026 follows a specific sequence of state-level counseling.
1. Entrance Exam
You must appear for the JEE Main 2026 (Session 1 or 2). GJUST does not conduct its own separate entrance test for B.Tech; it uses the NTA-released All India Ranks.
2. HSTES Online Registration
Instead of applying directly to the university first, you must register on the HSTES portal (techadmissionshry.gov.in).

Registration Window: Expected to open in June 2026.

Application Fee: ₹1,000 for General and ₹700 for Reserved categories.
3. Online Centralized Counseling
HSTES conducts two main rounds of online counseling:

Choice Filling: You log in and select "Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar" and your preferred branches (e.g., CSE, IT, Mechanical) in order of preference.

Seat Allotment: Seats are allocated based on your JEE Main Rank, category, and the choices you filled.
4. Physical Reporting & Fee Payment
If allotted a seat, you must download the allotment letter and report to the GJUST campus for:

Document Verification: Bringing original 10th/12th marksheet, JEE rank card, and Haryana Domicile (if applicable).

Admission Fee: Paying the first-semester fee to confirm your seat.
5. Institutional Level Counseling (For Vacant Seats)
If seats remain vacant after the HSTES rounds, GJUST conducts Physical/Manual Counseling at the university level (usually in late July or August). In this round, even candidates who didn't register for HSTES can sometimes apply.
