Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT), Varanasi is a government technical institute established in 1956 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India to promote education and skill development in the handloom and textile sector. It is part of a network of Indian Institutes of Handloom Technology across India, focused on preserving traditional textile heritage while integrating modern technology. The institute is approved by AICTE. The campus is located in Chaukaghat, Varanasi – 221002, Uttar Pradesh, with dedicated academic blocks, specialized weaving sheds, textile laboratories (design, processing, dyeing & printing), library, CAD facilities, and workshops. Hostel accommodation for boys and girls, transport links, and other student facilities support academic life.
