Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong)

Eligibility Criteria 

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA.

  • This minimum is relaxed to 45% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Differently Abled (DA) categories.

• Entrance Exam: A valid CAT score, conforming to the sectional and overall shortlisting criteria of IIM Shillong for the respective admission year.

  • Candidates appearing for the final year of their Bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply provisionally.

  • Application fees consists of Rs.3,000

Admission Process

Phase 1: Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI)

1. Preliminary Screening: Candidates who have opted for IIM Shillong in their CAT application and meet the minimum sectional CAT percentile requirements are considered.

2. Composite Score Calculation: A Composite Score is calculated for eligible candidates, usually based on:

   • Total CAT Percentile/Score 

   • Normalized Application Rating Score (NARS) 

     • Class X and Class XII Percentage Scores.

     • Work Experience (months).

3. Shortlisting: Candidates are ranked based on this Composite Score and a certain number are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI).

Phase 2: Final Merit Listing for Admission

1. Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates undergo the Personal Interview process.

   • A minimum percentage score is required in both Communication Proficiency and the PI itself to be considered for the final merit list (e.g., 30% for Others/EWS, lower for reserved categories).

2. Final Merit is based on the students performance in:

   • • Personal Interview (PI)

     • CAT Score

     • Past Academic Performance (Class X & XII)

     • Gender/Academic Diversity
