Admission Process
Stage 1: JEE Main (The Qualifier)

Session 2: Scheduled for April 2 to April 9, 2026.

Objective: You must rank among the top 2,50,000 candidates across India to be eligible for the next stage.
Stage 2: JEE Advanced (The Gateway)
This is the only exam used to determine your rank for IIT Delhi.

Registration: Opens April 23, 2026, and closes May 2, 2026.

Exam Date: May 17, 2026 (Paper 1: 9 AM; Paper 2: 2:30 PM).

Results: To be announced on June 1, 2026.
Stage 3: JoSAA Counselling (The Selection)

Registration Starts: June 2, 2026 (Tentative).

Choice Filling: You must log in to the JoSAA portal and list "IIT Delhi" and your preferred branches (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical, etc.) in your order of priority.

Allocation: There are usually 6 rounds of seat allotment. If you are allotted a seat, you must choose to Freeze (lock it), Float (accept but look for better), or Slide (accept but look for a better branch within IIT Delhi).
Stage 4: Physical Reporting & Admission

After the final round, you will receive an allotment letter.

You must report to the IIT Delhi campus in late July 2026 for document verification and fee payment to finalize your admission.
