Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for admission, you must meet the following national standards:

Academic Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 in 2024, 2025, or be appearing in 2026.

The 75% Rule: You need at least 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST/PwD) OR must be in the top 20 percentile of your respective board.

Mandatory Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
Admission Process
The B.Tech admission is a three-tiered selection process.
Phase I: JEE Main (Qualifying Stage)

Status: Session 2 is scheduled for April 2 to April 9, 2026.

Goal: You must rank among the top 2,50,000 candidates across all categories to qualify for the next exam.
Phase II: JEE Advanced (Selection Stage)
This is the only exam score used to determine your rank for IIT Gandhinagar.

Registration: Opens April 23, 2026, and closes May 2, 2026.

Exam Date: Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Results: To be declared on June 1, 2026.
Phase III: JoSAA Counselling (Allocation Stage)

Registration Begins: June 2, 2026 (Tentative).

Choice Filling: You must select "Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar" and rank your preferred branches.

Mock Allotments: Usually held between June 9 and June 11 to give you an idea of your likely seat.
