ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 B.Tech

• Qualification Required: 10 2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics

• Admission Mode:

• JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced

• JoSAA / CSAB Counseling

Admission Process 

Step 1: Entrance Examinations

1. JEE Main 2026: Used as a screening test. The Session 2 exams are scheduled for April 2 to April 9, 2026.

2. JEE Advanced 2026: This is the only exam used for your final merit rank.

   • Registration: April 23 – May 2, 2026.

   • Exam Date: May 17, 2026.

   • Results: June 1, 2026.

Step 2: JoSAA Counselling

3. Registration: Starting June 3, 2026, you must register on the JoSAA portal.

4. Choice Filling: You will list your preferred branches at IIT Guwahati.

   Tip: IIT Guwahati is famous for its Computer Science and Mathematics & Computing branches, which often close within the top 600–1,000 ranks.

Step 3: Seat Allocation & Reporting

5. Rounds of Allotment: There are usually 6 rounds of seat allocation based on your JEE Advanced rank.

6. Confirmation: If allotted a seat, you must complete online reporting, pay the seat acceptance fee, and upload documents for verification.
