Overview: The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) is an "Institute of National Importance" established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It began its journey in 2016 with academic support from IIT Delhi. Today, it operates from its permanent campus at Jagti, spread over 400 acres on the foothills of the Shivalik range (NH-44), about 15 km from Jammu city. The campus features the Agastya High-Performance Computing (HPC) facility and Saptarshi (Central Instrumentation Facility) with molecular-level research equipment. Ranked 62nd in Engineering by NIRF 2024, the institute recorded a highest package of ₹53.0 LPA and an average package of ₹19.5 LPA, with CSE achieving 100% placement.
