Admission
The Indian School of Business (ISB) is renowned for its flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), which is globally equivalent to an MBA. Unlike most Indian B-schools that use the CAT exam, ISB primarily looks at GMAT or GRE scores and places a heavy emphasis on professional work experience.

The Indian School of Business (ISB) offers three distinct entry routes depending on your current professional standing. Here is the eligibility breakdown in pointer form:

Admission Process
ISB follows a holistic selection process. They don't just look at numbers; they look at your "story."
-
Online Application: You submit your academic transcripts, employment history, and awards.
-
Essays: This is the most critical part where you describe your leadership potential, career goals, and why ISB fits your journey.
-
Letter of Recommendation (LOR): One LOR is required, typically from a professional supervisor who can vouch for your work ethic.
-
Shortlisting: Based on your profile and test scores, you are invited for an interview.
-
Personal Interview: Conducted by ISB alumni or senior faculty. It focuses on your professional maturity, "fit" for the school, and leadership qualities.
MBA Cutoffs (GMAT/GRE/CAT)
ISB does not have a fixed "cutoff." They use a range. However, based on the recent class profiles, here are the competitive benchmarks:
-
GMAT (Classic): 700–710 is the average. A score of 720 is considered strong.
-
GMAT (Focus Edition): The average is roughly 655–665.
-
GRE: A competitive score is usually 320–325 .
-
CAT (Only for PGP YL): Since this is a new inclusion, the expected percentile is high, likely 98-99 percentile.
Note: Candidates with scores as low as 600 (GMAT) have been admitted in the past if they had exceptional work experience or a unique "diversity" factor (e.g., doctors, artists, or military personnel).
Application Fees
The fee depends on whether you are a first-time applicant or a re-applicant and how early you apply.
-
First-time Applicants: ₹5,000
-
Re-applicants: ₹2,500
