Overview
The Institute of Advanced Research (IAR) is an innovation driven university, which offers professionally focused undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs. IAR had its foundation stone laid by Shri Narendra Modi, who was then serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, in 2003. Subsequently in 2006, the Institute’s formal inauguration was presided over by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the esteemed President of India at that time, marking the establishment of IAR as a research institute with the support of eminent national leaders. The University is financially supported by the Puri Foundation for Education in India, established by Professor Nathu Ram Puri, who is a leading industrialist in the UK with manufacturing and other businesses world-wide. The University is a not-for-profit institution and its sole purpose is to promote world class education, research and innovation for young people nationally and internationally. Laboratory Details
IAR focuses heavily on research and practical training, particularly in biotechnology and computing.
School of Biotechnology Labs: These are the university's flagship facilities, featuring advanced equipment for Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Embryology, and Nano-Biotechnology.
School of Computing Labs: Modern computer labs equipped with high-speed internet and specialized software for Artificial Intelligence, Data Science (supported by IBM collaboration), and Cyber Security.
Research & Development Cell: Dedicated spaces for Ph.D. scholars and faculty research projects, often funded by government agencies like DBT.
IBM Innovation Center: A collaborative facility for students studying IBM-curated curriculum in Data Science and AI.
