Admission
1. Undergraduate Admissions (B.Tech)

Entrance Exam: Admission to the first year of B.Tech (all branches) is based solely on the JEE Main score.

Counseling: Candidates must register for the UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU).

Eligibility: * Candidates must have passed 10 2 (Intermediate) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.

Minimum aggregate marks required: 45% for General/OBC and 40% for SC/ST categories.
Cut-off Marks (2024 Trends): Admission is highly competitive. For the General (Home State) category, the typical closing ranks are:

Computer Science & Engineering: ~30,000 – 51,000

Information Technology / CSE (AI): ~45,000 – 48,000
-
Electronics & Communication: ~51,000 – 53,000

Civil/Mechanical/Chemical: ~85,000 – 1,00,000
Relaxation: A relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks of the 12th standard is provided to SC/ST candidates.
2. Admission Process & Reporting
Once a seat is allotted through UPTAC and "Frozen" by the candidate, the following steps are required:

Physical Reporting: Candidates must physically report to the IET Lucknow campus (usually at the Pt. Ram Prasad Bismil Auditorium) on specified dates.

Document Verification: Two sets of self-attested photocopies along with original documents are required, including:

Allotment Letter (from UPTAC) and JEE Main/CUET/GATE Scorecard.

Class 10th & 12th Marksheets and Certificates.

Category/Caste Certificate (if applicable, issued after April 1st of the admission year).

Medical Certificate, Character Certificate, and Transfer/Migration Certificate.
