Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging 

• IMT Hyderabad follows a zero-tolerance policy against ragging on or off campus.

• Ragging includes teasing, rude behavior, harassment, or any act causing physical, mental, or psychological harm to any student.

• Acts such as forcing students into embarrassing activities, disrupting academics, exploiting services, or financial extortion are considered ragging.

• Any form of physical, sexual, verbal, online, or psychological abuse is strictly prohibited.

• Actions that damage a student’s self-confidence, dignity, or mental health are treated as serious offenses.

Administrative Action in Case of Ragging

• The Anti-Ragging Committee evaluates each case based on severity and facts.

• Possible punishments include:

  • Cancellation of admission

  • Suspension from classes or hostel

  • Withholding scholarships or results

  • Debarment from exams, events, or placements

  • Rustication for 1 to 3 trimesters

  • Expulsion from the institution

• Collective punishment may be imposed if offenders are not identified, to ensure accountability and deterrence.
