NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, GORAKHPUR CENTRE

Established in June 1989 (originally as the Centre for Electronics Design & Technology of India - CEDTI), the Gorakhpur Centre is an autonomous scientific society under the administrative control of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. It was formerly known as the DOEACC Society. Over the decades, it has evolved into a key hub for capacity building and skill development in the Information, Electronics, and Communication Technology (IECT) sector.NIELIT degree programmes have AICTE approval (B.Tech & M.Tech approvals appear on programme pages). Infrastructure and Facilities The center is situated on a lush green 12-acre campus located within the Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) premises on Deoria Road. Key facilities include: Laboratories: The campus houses over 13 state-of-the-art labs, including specialized facilities for Cyber Forensics, VLSI Design, and a Virtual Prototyping Lab (SMART Lab) accessible 24/7. Library: A well-stocked library with a vast collection of technical books, journals, and digital resources. NIELIT Gorakhpur (a Centre of the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology under MeitY) is an academic & training centre that runs in-campus degree programmes (B.Tech, M.Tech) alongside NIELIT’s well-known short/industry courses.
